Patient experience

Whether you come to us via a referral from your dentist or you book an appointment directly, we welcome new patients here at Heaton Mersey Orthodontic Centre.

The first step may have been your initial virtual consultation, after which we will invite you for your first appointment. During this appointment, we’ll take the time to find out as much about you as possible; this means we’ll take a detailed medical and oral health history, talk to you about how you feel about your teeth, and carry out a comprehensive examination. We will also take a digital scan of your teeth, clinical photographs and digital X-rays.

There’ll be no pressure or hurry, and plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions.

Organise Your Visit

At this point, we will explain your choice of potential treatment options based on factors such as speed, cost, visibility and desired outcome. You’ll be given a treatment plan to review before you make a final decision about your treatment. We will also send a report with a copy of the X-ray to your dentist.

Once your treatment plan is agreed upon, we will then book your initial treatment appointment at Heaton Mersey Orthodontic Centre in Stockport, Manchester.
